- The sunspots observed (from 26 Dec’22 to 29 Jan’23) appear usually in groups and are dynamic in nature. They grow and shrink in size with time.
- Sunspots appear only in two latitude regions between 40 deg to 15 deg in the northern hemisphere and between 0 deg to 25 deg in the southern hemisphere.
- The time period of rotation of the regions near the equator between latitudes of 30 deg N and 30 deg S rotate is calculated to be about 26 (+/- 1) days.
- This number is the synodic rotation period, which is the time for a fixed feature on the Sun to rotate to the same apparent position as viewed from Earth. The correct sidereal rotation period will be slightly less than the above value.
